Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of codeshock.dev (the “site”) and the Code Shock Weekly newsletter, both run by Codeshock (“we”, “us”). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Client work is covered separately
If you hire us, the project is governed by the written agreement or statement of work we both sign. Nothing on this site, including case studies, service descriptions or estimates, is an offer or a binding proposal. If that agreement and these terms conflict, the agreement wins.
Using the site
You may browse, read and share the site for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- interfere with or disrupt the site, its servers or the sign-up form,
- get around rate limits or other security measures,
- scrape or copy the site in bulk in a way that burdens it, or
- use the site to send spam or impersonate anyone.
Our content
The site’s text, design, code, graphics, the Codeshock name and logo, and the Insights articles belong to Codeshock or our licensors. You may read and share them for personal, non-commercial use. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back. Anything else, such as republishing whole articles or using our brand, needs our written permission.
The newsletter
Code Shock Weekly is free. You subscribe by confirming your email, and you can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every issue. We may change or stop the newsletter at any time. How we handle your email is described in our Privacy Policy.
Links to other sites
The site links to sites we don’t control, such as our social profiles and partner projects. We are not responsible for their content, policies or practices.
No warranties
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. Articles are general information, not professional advice for your situation. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Codeshock is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or newsletter. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to US$100. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Indemnity
If you misuse the site or break these terms and a third party makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use the site means you accept the new version. We may suspend or block access to the site for anyone who breaks these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Codeshock is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
